It’s a strange fact. Snuggled up against epic wedding films and powerfully inspiring micro docs, you’ll find a highly unusual entry on Lavender Lane Media’s most viewed films of all-time.

I make Life Stories for a living, so at least once a week experience that gut-stabbing pain when I hear “Oh, I wish I had known you sooner!” I then must endure painful accounts of special family members who have departed this world and taken a treasure trove of stories away with them. These stories tend to fade from collective consciousness or get retold with diminishing detail as time goes on.

And to a storyteller, this is akin to an artist watching the Louvre burn.

The voice matters.

When she recently made the decision to transition the sales portion of offthehook to an online format, she knew she needed to completely seize ownership of the story.

I grew up in an era when men were not encouraged to share their feelings. They certainly didn’t cry. So there’ll be none of that in this story.

Through our work together, Wade and his amazing spouse Arlene have become friends. They inspire me to think about how we can let our mindset turn our skill set into good in the world.
